To paraphrase Spock from the JJ Abrams reboot of Star Trek, as doing a podcast on Father’s Day ships would seem “oddly self-serving,” I’m skipping in this year in favor of giving y’all this quick notice of the Father’s Day special by Star Citizen for racing ships. Okay, honestly, I just ran completely out of time and am in Phoenix next week for a class on sermons, yet I still think such a podcast would be self-serving. I will deal with that subject later. Meanwhile, from my house to yours, Happy Father’s Day. God bless and keep the charcoal burnin.
Happy Birthday, Freya!
Two years ago today, Freya was brought to us from the hospital by her biological parents and my heart has been hers ever since. Happy birthday, my little daredevil. Can’t wait to share the universe with you. And the real thing as well.
We just got word that early this Friday morning, my good friend and brother in Christ, Rob Sharp, finally took the last road home to heaven after a long fight against cancer. While I’m personally sad that we shall never meet again here on Earth, I am glad that he is no longer in pain, but is in his Father’s arms, and I have no doubt he is hearing those words we all hope to hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Along with prayers for the family, please consider making a donation to your favorite cancer research foundation.
What is Easter, really? Is it bunnies and chicks, eggs and candy? Of course not, but what is it? Here’s one father’s take on it: What if we looked at what Easter is by way of God the Father?
If you have ever had children, you know how this goes. Freya has been having severe teething since we got back from the in-laws at Christmas and since I’m the one without an income, I’m the one trying my best to deal with it. But that means something has to give, and that is the podcasts. I will try to get back to podcasting as soon as I can.
In the meantime, here’s a short list of new ideas I have had:
The Pad and the Phone – How to get interaction in the family in the age of the app.
Priority One – Making family a priority; goal setting, budgeting, and a change of focus in the 21st century.
The Return of the Tabletop Game? – Looking closely at a new start-up.
LP Sermon Series: God the Father – Who is God to us? What does God say? The Painful Truth
Until then, folks, thanks for sticking with me and God bless.
