About Me

All it takes to be a Solar System Ambassador, a volunteer with Jet Propulsion Labs teaching the public about space exploration, is an eye to the future and a dream…
I can’t remember a time when I didn’t dream of becoming an astronaut, even a space colonist. According to my mother, I even talked a doctor’s ear off about seeing my first rocket launch at a very early age. But, as the old saying goes, those who can’t do… The average age of astronauts getting into the corp is 40. I was diagnosed with early onset degenerative arthritis at 32. The end of one dream.
The beginning of the new dream starts with the rest of the old saying… teach. We must teach the next generations about the wonders that are still out there to be found, to be explored, and let them be our eyes and ears in the new frontier. Because of that, I am primarily interested in getting the youngest excited about the possibilities, with activities that can teach, though I am also open to giving lectures. Let’s see what’s out there…
